Emthonjeni Trust was founded in Cheltenham in the UK in 2001 by a group of friends concerned about the devastating impact of AIDS in South Africa, particularly in Grahamstown (in the Makana Municipal District of the Eastern Cape).

Although we are no longer actively fundraising in the UK, we still have regular supporters and we still send donations to the Raphael Centre in Grahamstown which now practises a broader approach to community development as the best way to help those living with HIV/AIDs in healthier, more caring communities.
Emthonjeni Trust is registered with the Charity Commission number 1092880.
